Steelock General Fence Contractor is in its 30th year of installing commercial and industrial chain link fences, gates, gate operators, and access control systems. 30 years ago founder Roger J. Joyal introduced Colorado to a new fence company with the motto Steelock will serve you better.

In the ensuing years Steelock expanded to Wyoming, Utah, New Mexico, Nebraska, Kansas, and South Dakota. The companys growth was tremendous during the early 1980s and especially during the last 10 years.

In 1984 Joyal named Steve Streeter president of Steelock. In his 18 years as president, Streeter has picked up where Joyal left off. Steelock today is one of the largest fence companies in the Rocky Mountain Region.

But the firms success has not come without hard work from its employees. Steelock employees make up more than 150 years of fence experience combined, and the success of the company can be attributed to them.
The experience has allowed Steelock to tackle challenging projects such as the Last Chance Hazardous Waste Facility, the 1990 and 1991 Denver Grand Prix, the Cold Springs Park and Ride, the Open Pen Project in Fort Collins Colorado, and the TREX transportation project for Interstate 25 through the middle of Denver.

As we move into our next 30 years Steelock introduced its new state of the art facility in September of 2002. The new campus is 4 times larger then the old with all of the latest technology and equipment. The objective for this was to not only give the growing company room to breath, but ultimately better serve our customers. In 30 years we have still went back to the original rule of thumb set by Mr. Joyal in Steelock will serve you better. We can now serve our customers even better than before!!!!

The new facility is over 17,500 square feet of office and shop space with over 5 acres of yard space. With new feature of pallet racking to house our entire pipe and fabric inventory and large yard we are able to keep our field of trucks and equipment organized and operate more efficiently. Our fabrication shop is state of the art with newest welders and ability to keep our production at a high level due to the large space. In the office we have the most recent up to date technology with computers, phone systems, and office equipment. I was here 28 years ago when we built the first facility which I thought could not be topped, but this new one is even better!!! says Virgil Thomas, CFP a 28 year veteran of Steelock.
