The Church of the Holy Family is an ecumenical Catholic faith community comprised of Christians from many faith traditions who seek to make the richness of Catholic spirituality and tradition available and accessible to all. Our community, a member of the growing Ecumenical Catholic Communion, is made up of former Episcopalians, Lutherans, and Protestants as well as, many people who, for some reason, have felt excluded from the Roman Catholic Church.
We are "ecumenical" because we promote worldwide Christian unity and cooperation. Our members include individuals who feel excluded from their faith traditions. We recognize the dignity of all people regardless of their race, national origin, gender, or sexual orientation.
Our ecumenical spirituality allows all to receive the sacraments available through our Catholic tradition. We welcome all to the Lord's table at our Mass celebration.
What does it mean to be Ecumenical and Catholic?
We welcome persons of all Christian faith traditions to the Eucharist table
We support unity among all Christians
We seek mutual understanding and respect with those of other religions through dialogue and we seek mutual cooperation in the endeavor for peace and justice in our world.
We uphold Catholic tradition with respect to the following principles:
The Apostles and Nicene Creed
The Sacramental and Liturgical tradition practiced
Apostolic Tradition and Succession
A body of Christians sharing a common faith and discipline
A community striving for justice, peace, and unity within the Church and the world
We are concerned, committed Catholics forging a path towards an emerging faith tradition which includes:
Allowing priests the freedom to marry and raise families of their own
Giving women the opportunity to serve God's people as ordained deacons, priests, and bishops
Freely giving Jesus' gift of Eucharist to all the baptized; and welcoming all to the celebration of the sacraments
Striving for justice within the Church as well as throughout the world
We welcome all who seek the richness of a sacramental and liturgical community. Each baptized person is an equal member of the Catholic Church. No bishop, priest, or deacon owns the Church, the sacramental ministry, or the grace of Christ. Therefore, lay people play a central role in the governance of the community.
Planning a wedding and you didn't think you could have a Catholic ceremony?
We are here to serve the needs of all couples, especially those who wish to have a sacramental Catholic marriage, but are unable to be married in another church. Our ordained clergy perform nuptial ceremonies or Masses at almost any location, perhaps in the garden or park, home, hotel, church or wedding chapel. They provide services that help create unique ceremonies for each couple!
Church of the Holy Family
