The traditional “Hanging of the Greens” will take place on November 27 from 9:00 to 11:59 a.m. Bring your holiday spirit and your helping hands to decorate APC for the upcoming Advent season.
This year theannual Thanksgiving Ecumenical Service is happeningat St. Andrews Lutheran Church, 66th and Pierce Street (across the street from the Secrest Youth Center), on Thanksgiving Eve (11/24) at 7:00 pm.
The Faithful Readers Book Club will meet on Thursday, November 18 at 9:30 AM in Classroom K (downstairs off Fellowship Hall). This month’s subject of discussion is “Under the Banner of Heaven” by Jon Krakauer. The book is “a riveting account of Taliban-like theocracies in the American heartland and of a brutal, religiously inspired murder”.

Everyone is cordially invited to attend this inter-active, cross-generational worship held once a month. This month the theme is “Thanksgiving Through Feeding Others”. Please bring donations of non-perishable food for distribution to needy families right here in south Arvada. Meet at 5:00 PM downstairs in Fellowship Hall.
On Wednesday November 17, joina team of APC mission folkswho will prepare and serve the evening meal to 70-90 men at the New Genesis men’s shelter at Central Presbyterian Church. Let’s get out and exercise! On November 20 we’ll meet at the APC parking lot at 8:30 am to explore Lookout Mountain in Golden. After a quick tour of the Lookout Mountain Nature Center, the Boettcher Mansion, and Buffalo Bill’s gravesite, we’ll explore the forests and meadows that make up Lookout Mountain Nature Preserve and the adjacent Denver Mountain Park.
All widows are invited to attend this enjoyable gathering. On November 20, SOS will meet at 11:30 am at the Red Lobster, 4455 Wadsworth Blvd. If you have questions, contact the church office at 303-422-3463. Fran T or Betty M are the organizers.
Saturday 11/6/2010: 12 members cleaned flower beds, raked pine needles and leaves, swept, cleaned gutters, weather-stripped doors, and dug a water-drain trench. We also laughed a lot, ate doughnuts, and drank coffee. Plan to join usDecember 11 ,for more work and fellowship.
