The school will be CLOSED for the Thanksgiving weekend.
This includes Thursday (11/25), Friday (11/26), and Saturday (11/27).

We would like to invite all students (and their families) to join us for the second annual Dojo Dinner Party. This is a nice way to see, hang out with and talk to the friends youve made at the school.
WHEN: Saturday December 11th at 7:00pm

WHAT: all you can eat Italian buffet (the food is REALLY good)
COST: adults: $22.27 (this includes tax, tip & non-alcoholic beverages)
children ages 4-12 $9.00, age 3 and under eat free

Seminar at AMA on December 5th 4:00pm-5:00pm
Principles of Technique / Dojo Dinner fund raiser
Mark Jest is an awesome instructor and a heck of a good guy. He is going to host a seminar whos proceeds will go to those who may need help (financially) with celebration dinner. Here is Marks letter (and the info):
This years holiday get together will be held Saturday December 11th, 2010. We have decided to hold the dinner at Cinzettis restaurant in Northglenn. Last year we didnt get the notice out very early but still enjoyed the company of many, many students and their families. Were getting the notice out much earlier this year so you can start planning for this wonderful occasion.
This dinner serves two main functions: One, this is an opportunity to thank Mr. Pedersen for the great job he does every single day. And secondly, this is a time that we can talk to each other informally. Sometimes thats hard to do when we are so busy just trying to learn Mr. Pedersens art. This is our opportunity to meet and get to know the other students, teachers, assistants and their families. We will also be giving Mr. Pedersen a gift from the school to show him our appreciation of him and the school he has built. It also works to embarrass the heck out of him. You dont want to miss that!
As economic times are a bit harder this year, some people and their families might find it hard to attend this event. We want to make sure everyone that wants to attend, can attend. In order to make that happen we thought a fund raising seminar would be a great way to share some martial knowledge while making sure that more people can attend this annual dinner. This donation for this seminar is 10.00 or whatever you can afford.
Whats in the seminar?
-The seminar is being presented by 4th Degree Black Belt Mark Jester
-A demonstration and lecture of the Principles of Technique.
-A short lecture and demonstration on mind set and preparation.
-An introduction of basic and progressive techniques of Silat, Kuntau and Kenpo.
-Marks assistants will be on hand to help provide one on one instruction.

Fight Results – The Professionals 11/12/10

On Friday night Matt made his pro debut against Alfredo Corona. At the start of the fight Corona threw a few punches. Matt backed away and then, when Corona kicked, Matt grabbed the leg and shot in. Unfortunately Matt had his head down as he came in which allowed Corona to put on a guillotine choke. Corona threw a standing guard on Matt and was able to finish the choke. It wasnt so much a fight as it was an early mistake getting Matt caught. We are still proud of Matt and this big step up in his fighting career. Matt is a champion, he will use this to motive himself and fuel the fire for his next fight. A big thank you to all that came to the show and showed their support.

Matt has captured six amateur titles (yes six!) and now his long over due pro-debut is here.

Time: Fights start at 7:30 pm

This show is being touted as the biggest Pro. show in history!

Trevor Beack and Nathan Gate and are on the card!
Trevor is making his debut fight against Andrew Addington. Trevor works hard and has great skills, we cant wait.
Nate (7-3) is in a title fight against Chad Romero (7-0) for the Colorado Feather Weight Sate Title!!! This will probably be the main event of the night.
What: MMA and Kick Boxing competition

Where: Red Lion Hotel (I-70 & Quebec)
Time: Doors open at 6:30pm, fights start at 7:30pm.
The school does not have the tickets this time around
so theyll have to be purchased at the door.

Group Classes are being held as NORMAL, so please come on in!

Hock Hochheim is the head/founder of Close Quarter Combatives. He travels teaching schools, police and militaries around the world. This is a great opportunity to train with him because hes coming to our own backyard! Hocks clinics are my favorite with rock solid material presented in an easy to understand way. Come and learn from the best of the best.

The Seminar is on Sunday the 19th, 10am to 4pm.

Instructor Sifu Milow has graciously offered to run a one hour seminar demonstrating his art, Pakua, at Advantage Martial Arts. This will be on Saturday August 28th at 5:00pm and is FREE to all AMA students! I believe this will be an excellent opportunity for students to add to their Kenpo so please come on down.
