A true treasure in the city of Denver, the Bookies is an independent book seller with a 35-year history. We always tell people we're a bookstore like no other. The Bookies has something for everyone: great children's books and gifts, fun craft materials and books and gifts for adults, too. And we offer most of our merchandise at a discount!

The Bookies also has a great selection of educational and teacher materials from preschool to high school. We can handle large school orders — make sure to check out our schools section for more details. Come in and let our friendly, knowledgeable staff help you select the perfect book. We also can find out of print books. And our staff holds story time at 10:30 a.m. every Tuesday.

Located just two blocks east of Colorado Boulevard on Mississippi, The Bookies is a Denver institution, started almost 35 years ago in owner Sue Lubeck's basement. Today, the Bookies has grown to include books for virtually everyone's taste and interests. With around 100,000 titles, you're bound to find something you love!
