Basic Services at Colorado Springs Audiology

Audiologic testing - Our patients are tested in an 8 X 8 sound treated room with insert earphones. If testing is to determine the need for personal amplification, there is NO charge for testing. Please call for an appointment.

Earwax removal - Cerumen impactions can cause discomfort, hearing loss, dizziness and more. Earwax is carefully removed with the aid of a binocular microscope. Fee is $25.00 per ear.

Hearing aids - All styles with budgets to meet your individual needs If a hearing aid will not help, we will tell you. We are not owned or franchised by any hearing aid manufacturer and we are not limited to using one brand. Hearing aids are reasonably priced and posted on our web site. We provide batteries for hearing aids. Normal battery price: $1/battery. Servicing and repairs on hearing aids, hearing assistive technology, earmolds are available with a friendly and knowledgeable staff.

Custom earmolds for hearing aids users, shooters, people who work around excessive noise along with special earmolds for pilots, broadcasters, blue tooth cell phone users, iPod users are available. For musicians, inner ear monitors provide the optimum in high tech listening experience.

Industrial Testing - OSHA compliant, for companies required to provide hearing testing services as part of a hearing conservation program.

Managing ear wax: Dr. McHugh is qualified to clean your ears, and is one of only a few audiologists using a binocular microscope for this purpose. It's safer, more comfortable, and you can see the whole procedure on our flat screen monitors.

Dual- mini from Oticon is by far our more popular model and replaces an equally popular model known as "Delta." Duals are light, easy to wear, and stylish -- for mild to moderate hearing loss needs that provides superior clarity especially in the presence of background noise. The cost for our most popular model, the Dual M7 is $1770.00 per hearing aid, or $3540.00 for two.
Dual-Connect looks like the Dual in the picture, but has two important differences: 1) It is allows for blue tooth telephones to be interfaced with these devices, and 2) it is significantly more expensive ($2480.00 per hearing aid, or $4962.00). In my opinion, consumers should carefully consider how much they would use such a blue tooth compatible hearing aid before investing the additional money. In my office, I recommend the less expensive Dual mini's 95% of the time.

Dr. McHugh is the Vice President of the Colorado Academy of Audiology and chairperson of the state academy meeting held in Breckenridge, CO in October of 2010. The meeting brought in some the profession's most renown experts in the field of audiology. Dr. McHugh (Waldo) is not in the picture, because Waldo (McHugh) was the the photographer!
