Request references: It's good practice to talk to previous customers about their experience working with the company.

Review a portfolio of past projects: Ask specific questions about past projects to make sure construction will take place according to your vision. Remember, it's your dream-space.

Ask about options and features: If you're unsure about what you want, the company should be able to guide you. Also, request a full description of the proposed project, including area drawings, to ensure that your vision is interpreted correctly. Remember, it's easier and less costly to make changes before construction begins.

Review costs: Make sure it's clear what's included in the price. For example, does the price include weather treatment of the wood?
Ask about warranties and guarantees: Find out what guarantees and warranties are available and how long they last. It's good if a company stands by their work and will be there for you long after the project is completed to answer questions, resolve problems, or help you with your next project.
