A law firm dedicated to helping couples and families in transition
For many people divorce is much more of a beginning than it is an end. Although divorce legally ends a marriage, new issues such as the equitable distribution of marital property, spousal support, allocation of parental responsibilities, parenting time, and child support confront the former couple. The marriage may be over, but a working relationship will continue as the agreements entered into on these difficult issues are acted upon. That working relationship can be a productive and amicable one, or it can be a destructive and miserable one. I work hard to see that my clients enjoy the former.
My practice is devoted to representing individuals that are contemplating divorce or are in the divorce process. I work closely with my clients and their families to formulate tailored solutions to the challenges that accompany divorce. By spending the necessary time to get to know my clients and understand their particular circumstances, I am able to provide sound advice and resolutions to the issues of division of marital assets, spousal support, allocation of parental responsibilities, parenting time and child support. By working together to develop agreements that take the needs of every member of the family into account, we are able to enter into agreements that work and that will stand the test of time. A resolution arrived at between the parties and their attorneys is almost always preferable to one imposed upon them by a court that may not have the time or the inclination to accommodate individual circumstances. While I encourage my clients to resolve family law issues outside of the courtroom, I am committed to being a strong advocate. When dealing with unreasonable parties, or unfair proposals I provide aggressive litigation services based upon years of knowledge and experience negotiating and litigating family law disputes. I will always work towards the fair resolution of the case.
For couples and families with complex financial situations, large and diverse investment portfolios, retirement funds, real estate holdings, stock options, and business interests, the identification, valuation, and fair division of marital assets may be complicated.
My practice continues to focus on clients with complex marital asset allocation issues. I have extensive experience in helping clients identify and value marital assets. The distribution of these assets often has significant tax implications. The distribution of these assets without careful consideration can lead to a negative impact on the overall distribution of the estate. These issues must be addressed in order to equitably distribute assets while protecting and preserving the marital estate. When necessary I employ forensic accountant and tax experts to value and assist with the division of assets. If you have a complex estate and are facing divorce, you need more than just a family law attorney. You need an attorney with the knowledge and the tools to identify and equitably divide assets, while protecting the marital estate.
