"Happiness comes from being receptive to whatever arises rather than frantically trying to escape what's unpleasant."
I view my clients as creative and resourceful individuals who are facing difficult or challenging times in their lives. My role as therapist is to help my clients identify what is keeping them "stuck" so they can re-engage with a life they value. Therapy is very much a co-creative process for integrating mind, body, and spirit in ways that promote health and well-being.
As a psychologist I have counseled adults and couples for over 15 years. I have expertise in cognitive and behavioral therapy, mindfulness based cognitive therapy (MBCT), mindfulness based stress reduction (MBSR), and EMDR. I am also interested in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Areas of specialty include:
Anxiety Disorders including Panic, OCD, and Social Anxiety
Depression and Mood Disorders
Relationship Issues (including same sex relationships)
