Dr. Lon R. Horwitz, D.P.M.(Doctor of Podiatric Medicine) specializes in the medical and surgical relief of foot disorders. Dr. Horwitz graduated from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in 1981. His residency training was completed in Denver at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in 1982. He has been in private practice in Denver since 1983. In 1992 he was appointed to the surgical teaching faculty at the V.A.M.C. in Denver where he has trained dozens of podiatric surgical residents and podiatric medical students in various aspects of medical and surgical care of foot disorders and deformities.
Dr. Horwitz is a Diplomate (Board Certified in Foot Surgery), American Board of Podiatric Surgery, (D.ABPS), a Fellow in the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, (FACFAS) as well as a Diplomate (Board Certified), American Academy of Wound Management, (CWS - Certified Wound Specialist).
Dr. Horwitz has had four manuscripts published in the three major podiatric medical journals - concerning gout, plantar warts, surgical replacement of the big toe joint and a new innovative method for healing venous stasis ulcerations of the lower leg.
Dr. Horwitz specializes in painful toenail deformities, corns, bone spurs, custom orthotics to control foot imbalance, hammertoe and bunion deformities, heel pain, diabetic foot care, and cosmetic foot surgery, as well as other common foot disorders. He employs many of the most recent advances in non-surgical and surgical management for relief of foot ailments.
