Dr. Back’s mission as a doctor is to assist her patients in uncovering blocks to healing in order to maximize health and well being. She does this by working in cooperation with her patients, developing a treatment plan based on mutual respect and responsibility. She evaluates health by listening to and observing a patient’s thoughts, emotions, and physical symptoms.
Her focus is supporting healing from the inside out, both in immediate care matters and chronic health concerns.
In alignment with naturopathic and Chinese medical principles, she emphasizes a constitutional approach. This includes addressing specific symptoms, as well as the underlying cause. Symptoms reflect a meaningful picture of a person’s inner state and vitality and demonstrate the appropriate direction for healing. The goal is to harmonize body, mind and spirit and obtain optimal health.
