Ninjutsu: The Original Mixed Martial Art
The Ninpiden Dojo believes in upholding the traditions of Ninjutsu and Jujutsu and the spirit in which those arts were developed. The ninja were noted for their ability to adapt and overcome challenges; finding their way through the obstacles in their path to achieve their goals. It is this spirit that we seek to maintain at the Ninpiden dojos. We honor the traditions of the past as well as developing the arts of the future.
Martial arts were originally developed as systems of combat and self defense. Over time they have come to be valued for the other aspects of self improvement they offer. Today, martial arts are studied for various reasons, including combat skills, fitness, self-defense, sport, self-cultivation, meditation, mental discipline, character development and building self-confidence.
Here at the Ninpiden Dojos, we work with our students to help them achieve their goals and to learn the life skills that will enable them to move past the obstacles they find in their way.
Seek not to follow in the footsteps of men of old;
seek what they sought. ~ Matsu Basho
I think a hero is an ordinary individual who finds strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.
